Improve. Improv.

Tonight I signed up for a local Improv group.
I was asked to fill out a small questionnaire and it's insights are noteworthy for me.
Having searched my mind in this exercise, more light is shed on who I am.
My answers are as follows:

Tell me about you?
I am a repressed performer. Every night at my job, I am on stage and I love it. I pour whiskey and entertain the crowd. We are all unscripted actors, posturing and posing. I'm recharged by social interaction and yet I have a tendency to live in my head. I want to broaden my perspective while pushing myself out of my comfort zone. I am anxious to meet people who are on a similar path.

What are your interests?
Love, Sewing, Painting, Fitness, Modeling, Singing, Dancing, Language, Meditation, The awesome human mind, travel, PEOPLE!

Lists some Improvs you have participated in.
-Endless prank phone calls.
-Impromptu voice mail songs recorded with my brother to shock my parents friends when they call the house....Delayed satisfaction, yet delicious!
-Changing my accent for a whole day assuming another personality...
-interpretive dance to the symphony channel, you're an elephant I'm a mouse GO!

What are a few improv ideas?
assign roles and play "house" or "office" What would the world be like if we were all men/all women?
What is improv?
Improv is a marriage of minds. Using awareness and your ability to act to its fullest. Improv is letting go and hanging on at the same time.

These very basic questions when focused on a particular subject are extremely helpful. When people ask me about myself I am usually quite or I give them a short vague answer. I think' " there is too much to tell!" My mind needs focus. If I ask the right questions I will know exactly what they are asking, what they want to learn. If I pay close enough attention, I will know what I am willing to give.

When I look at these answers I see that bar tending makes sense for me. The majors I have picked in school however do not. To further pursue any of them would be hiding, playing it safe.

I am in love with tonight.

I am.

I am the dew that sits patiently on a blade of grass.  I am the tree that reaches up to the sky begging for sun.  I am its roots that search the earth for food and water.  I am the river, the ocean, I am the mountains.  I am the wind that flows about touching everything possible, always on time.  I am home.  Home is me.  I live in a little house in the mountains.  I have a garden a pond filled with fishes,  Many horses come and feed on my land, drink from my pond.  It is ours.  This is where I live, and yet I am everywhere. I am me and you.  There is a reason for my existence, my great cognizance in  this unit, Our home.

Writer's Block: My Favorite Neighborhood Business

What is it about your favorite local small business that keeps you coming back again and again?

Everyone knows me and my slightly cumbersome name.  As soon as I walk in I'm greeted and treated like a regular.  I really appreciate everyone who works there and they show me that my business means something.  I feel like I make there day a little brighter. So I keep coming back.  It is a genuine exchange.

I'm searching for you.

I want to run so fast and let the wind take me. Up by my heels to a distant shore. A place I've never seen, never been before. Please see that I find my way. Oh Wind, You could never be too hasty. Fly, Fly, Fly, I will and not look back. I have the strength to make it.  Here I grow weary, take me to a place where my light can shine. Where I can love and be. Where Purpose, my Purpose shows itself to me. Search deep into my soul and see that I am ready. Build, Build, Build a home strong and steady. I want to see what's on the other side. Let me look back and know this journey has been worth every tear, every scar, every stab. Oh wind I am you and you are Me. Stick close to me please Wrap us up in each other. Live with me. Let me feel your cool breeze in my solo space. Show me that I am not alone. Show me that I am love. Let me Breathe you in. Feel you nourish me. Help me find the version of me that is all love. Let us meet in the night, forge in our sleep and wake in our beautiful balance. New. Fresh, Knowing. She is out there. I know she exists and she is me. Use your mighty force oh wind and carry my cries to my future Love, Love, Love, Love, Please come to me love! Be one with me. Have Courage to show me what Life can be. Take me to the waters edge and I will get Clean, show me to the fire and I will Thrive.
